The only downsize is that because the Blackberry OS runs on Java, the embeded flash movies can't be watched on these.

Here's a trailer on a great film... A documentary on the Open Source movement, the Linux computing platform and their struggle to crack Microsoft's iron grip on the world of computing. Includes interviews with Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, Richard Stallman, the ideologue of the movement, and other high-tech big shots like Bruce Perens, Eric Raymond, Brian Behlendorf, Michael Tiemann, Larry Augustin, Frank Hecker and Rob Malda.

This is a very interesting commercial, it was aired on TV for a while then I haven't seen it again. The kid in it represents Linux, it's being tutored by great sources of information around the globe. It exposes the great potential this OS has.... It's Open to anyone!

Today I logged in to my hotmail account and saw a flag on my screen inviting me to be part of the Windows Live Mail Beta testing users, I clicked the button and I answered a few questions for customizing my mail account. Once I was in... I was amazed to see such a clean and well organized interface. This is what it looked like:

I have to say, this looks 100 times better than the current Hotmail interface, specially because this one only has 1 banner ad on the top (I hope it stays that way). This is somewhat similar to the WebMail interface on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.

So if you are a Hotmail user and get the flag (green button on the top left corner while you're logged on to your hotmail account) it's worth trying out...

I got bored!, so I decided to spend sometime looking for interesting stuff @ video.google.com and came up with this:

For those of you who love Video Games and Innovations like I do, just wanna let you know... You need to start saving up for November, which is when the new Sony Playstation 3 will be released. Most people know that Wi-Fi has now become the standard in comfort and convenience for networking home, enterprise and public networks. It's so nice to not be stuck with wires in order to be connected to a network. Wi-Fi also know for it's normal frequency 802.11 has evolved since it was introduced, speeds represented by the letters at the end of the frequency: a, b, g, n. But Wi-Fi as we know it could become obsolete pretty soon, a new generation of wireless network protocol is underway!

As you know, Wi-Fi has it's limitations, the area range it's signal broadcasts to is aprocimately 300 Ft. at most, the more distance between the hot spot and the client, the more speed loss the client will experience.

WiMAX promises to solve those issues. In practical terms, WiMAX would operate similar to WiFi but at higher speeds, over greater distances and for a greater number of users. WiMAX could potentially erase the suburban and rural blackout areas that currently have no broadband Internet access because phone & cable companies have not yet run the necessary wires to those remote locations.

The main difference is not Speed (yet it will be capable of higher speeds than normal Wi-Fi since it promises to provide up to 70 mbps compared to the 54 mbps Wi-Fi is capable of) but distance.

IEEE 802.16 Specifications

• Range - 30-mile (50-km) radius from base station
• Speed - 70 megabits per second
• Line-of-sight not needed between user and base station
• Frequency bands - 2 to 11 GHz and 10 to 66 GHz (licensed and unlicensed bands)
• Defines both the MAC and PHY layers and allows multiple PHY-layer specifications

This one will for sure change the way we do business!

If you own a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), a smart phone that works on a Microsoft based OS (Operating system) or any other Cellular telephone that runs on the Symbian OS.... Then get your device ready!!! I've found a great addition for your mobile device...

When you try to browse the internet from your Mobile Device, having such limited amount of screen realestate becomes an issue, nevermind trying to browse simultaneous sites!!! If you've ever used a tabbed browser on your desktop like FireFox or Netscape you know for sure what convenience they bring with the tabbed browsing feature. You can browse multiple sites all in the same browser window, without having a cluster of them all over your desktop.

Well, Opera has just released a new beta version of their Opera Mini browser, it has many cool features built in, but the best and most convenient is the tabbed browsing on such limitted screen space.

If you click HERE you can download the Opera Mini that works with your Mobile Device, you will get a *.cab file that you need to copy over to your device using Activesync or whatever you use to sync your device with your PC. Once copied you have to locate the .cab through your device, then execute it, it should work like a charm.

When I go out to buy a piece of hardware that is worth more than $100.00 I like to compare not only prices but also features and advantages from one device type/brand to another. When doing this many times there's things I may need clarification on, for example if I'm byuing a digital camera, what does ISO and Shutter speed represent, etc...
